Survey on the forms of evaluation of development oriented research proposals
The Latin American Social Sciences Council (CLACSO) and its Latin American Forum for Scientific Assessment (FOLEC, in Spanish) together with the International Development Research Center (IDRC), would like to invite you to participate in a survey oriented to specialists and/or authorities of science and technology and/or higher education organizations, in charge of a call/instrument to finance research projects in the Global South, particularly in developing economies of South Asia: Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka, on the forms of evaluation of research proposals oriented to the search for solutions to development problems, which is available at the following link: https://es.surveymonkey.com/r/IDRCCLACSO
The survey will be open until September 15th, 2021.
With this survey we intend to:
– gather information on the forms of evaluation of research proposals oriented to the search for solutions to development problems, their characteristics, processes and evaluation criteria by specialists, referents and/or authorities of scientific and/or higher education organizations in countries of the Global South.
– analyze situated, relevant and quality ways of evaluating research proposals for funding to better adapt to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), global “grand challenges” and local critical situations, as well as to facilitate funding schemes and decisions that promote more inclusive research systems.
By responding to the survey, you will contribute to:
– Visibilizing experiences and sharing innovative and inclusive forms of research evaluation situated in the Global South and contributing to influence future funding decisions on a global scale.
Our results will be open access and disseminated to major funders of science, innovation and higher education internationally. A selection of the initiatives participating in this research will be invited to present their case at the 9th. Latin American and Caribbean Conference on Social Sciences, to be held in Mexico City from June 7-10, 2022.
